We learned about the great Renaissance painter, sculptor, and architect Michelangelo, at our Meet the Masters assembly. During our art lesson, we used chalk to "marblize" our paper. We worked as architects to build a Roman cathedral. We added detailed patterns and then used dry tempra powders to add highlights and shadings.
Congratulations to Allison and Isaiah for their winning entries in this year's PTA Reflections Contest. At the District level, Isaiah placed in the Elementary Photography Division and Allison took First Place in the Elementary Visual Arts Division. Every student in our class submitted an entry! I'm proud of everyone! We are a talented bunch!
We love art! We began by using bright colored tempra paint to paint concentric circles. Then we used a fine tipped brush and white tempra to paint in designs. We cut out the heart and viola! Every heart is unique and so pretty. You can see them all on the page above.
